Checklist of 23 things

So far…

Week 1  #1 & #2 — done

cool program (23 things) and lifelong learning sure makes sense

Week 2 #3 & #4  done

Blogs are great! Using WordPress instead of Blogspot but idea is the same.

Week 3 #5 -#7

Working on this section now,

Have my flickr  account — exploring the possiblities.  I have used “Webshots” in the past but Flickr seems pretty easy to use.

Last night I was online chatting with someone and they mentioned open source software (free software you can customize to your needs) I have just started looking at the video editing program called “Jahshaka” — video editing is starting to be another of those ‘things’ in my lifelong learning basket.

My plan is to add link to my flickr to this blog for everyone to see ;-)

Stay tuned

7 1/2 habits

Reviewing the 7 1/2 habits of successful lifelong learners — the can-do attitude is so vital I believe. the last habit #7-1/2  (play) may the most important of all :-)

Navigating new technologies

I am exploring the ‘navigating new technologies’ program supported by Panhandle Library Access Network (PLAN) — such fun… I have had this blog in place since an earlier PLAN workshop — I will track my progress through the program here.

My bikes

ocr3      su100

my current bikes are Trek SU100 (commuter) and
Giant OCR3 (road) … I LOVE MY BIKES! Yes they are both silver… just happened that way — not planned. I am planning to have the giant handlebars re-taped… they arrived in white! shows all the grunge!  Yes, I know lots of folks tape their own… but I really like my LBS and why not let them do it?

Podrunner is cool

podrunner  I really recommend Podrunner for exercise music — creator djsteveboy puts together great music sets — all within a “beats per second range”… example the latest download I liked was an easy 147 bps called “challenger deep”. check it out and see what you think. Your mp3 players will love you for these downloads… I have found treadmills are not nearly so boring with these tunes.

My first race — Sunset 5k Panama city, fl

My first 5k  My 1st 5k was more walking than running but I finished it!

When my ankle heals I am back in training to go for 5k with more running than walking.

Re-starting my blogging

My plan for this blog includes journaling my progress as a cyclist,  and beginning runner. Ultimately I hope to compete in a sprint triathlon this fall.  Currently I am sidelined with a sprained ankle of all things.  My injury is the dumbest thing — I just tripped and turned my ankle just enough so now here I sit with a huge goose-egg on my left ankle. Bummer.

Oh well, This will heal up soon and everything can get going again with my training.
